Hadas Gur-Ze'ev is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Communication at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication from the Hebrew University and a Bachelor's degree in Cinema and Television from Tel-Aviv University, as well as professional experience with innovative technologies in the ed-tech and digital entertainment industry.
Her M.A. dissertation, titled “No Geek Girls”: Boundary-work and Gendered Identity in the Israeli Geek Community (advisor: Dr. Neta Kligler-Vilenchik), focused on in-group power dynamics around popular content in the context of changing media environment. Her fields of interest include the intersection of popular culture, social media, gender, and participatory culture in the digital age.
